Moon Jar Throwing Class - 5 Evening Classes

Join us for a unique journey into Korean pottery with Brooklyn-based ceramicist Itai Lavie, who trained under master potters in Korea and has taught Moon Jar workshops internationally. Over five sessions, you'll learn the traditional techniques behind the Moon Jar—a large, round vessel known for its balance, softness, and subtle beauty.
The class has 5 sessions on:
9 (Wed), 10 (Thurs), 15 (Tues), 16 (Wed) and 17 (Thurs).
Every class is 3½ hours each. You’ll explore:

- Spiral wedging and tall cylinder throwing
- Throwing large bowl forms (up to 6 kg)
- Joining two forms to create the elusive Moon Jar
- Decorating your pieces (carving and colors)
- Let's Clay will glaze and fire your pieces in a smooth transparent glaze.
What is included
Aprons, towels and whatever you'll need to be clean(ish) and safe is included in your class price. Even though it is a very special occasion, you don't need to wear your Sunday Best and Blue Suede Shoes, but any clothes that can go in the washer is perfect. Any clay you'll get on you comes right off.
A light vegetarian snack plus all the coffee, tea and water you could possibly drink is included in your class price.
12kgs of high quality clay + firing of 2 pieces are included in your class price, and more pieces can be added for +100-250DKK/piece depending on size.
